How It Works
thefrequencyaudio.com is a niche-specific music group dedicated to creating original hiphop music and songs for various platforms. Our mission is to make original high-quality hip-hop music that is easily assessable, empowers creatives to tell better stories, and supports musical artists.
THE LICENSE
We offer three types of license. An Exclusive Song license, a Non-Exclusive Song license and a Masters Use license.
An Exclusive Song license states that only you have the right to monetize in song form, the composition that you’ve selected to license.
A Non-Exclusive Song license states that there may be others that have obtained a non-exclusive license to monetize a composition in song form at the same time as you.
A Masters Use license is exclusive to the assigned project per the licensee contract. A Masters Use license is typically used in film, t.v., podcast or any other content creation.
Each composition we license is copyrighted with the U.S. government and registered with ASCAP/BMI. We are also registered with Soundexchange and The Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC). These entities provide a framework for facilitation of royalties collection with you the artist/client.
SAMPLES
Some of our licenses contain samples. Those compositions containing samples are legal to be licensed to you. However you must obtain a license (clear the sample) to use the samples contained in your own song. Royalties are due to the rights holders of the samples used within your song. Those agreements have been previously negotiated and cannot be changed by FrequencyAudio. E-mail us for more information.
THE PRODUCT
Your purchase includes:
⠀⠀⠀⠀- A Stereo reference wav of the composition
⠀⠀⠀⠀- An mp3 and a wav stereo reference of the composition
⠀⠀⠀⠀- A wet set of stems
⠀⠀⠀⠀- A dry set of stems
⠀⠀⠀⠀- Rights attained within the contract of your license
All stems are rendered in 24bit Depth/48.1kHz unless otherwise requested by you the client. The maximum available is 192kHz. We understand those of you working in film and t.v. may require the maximum, just let us know and we’ll accommodate you. If you are an artist who’s work is slated to be used in film or t.v., you may want to consider a higher rate than 24/48kHz.
REQUIREMENTS
Artists are required to register with a digital performance royalties platform such as Soundexchange and a Performance Rights Organization of your choice to facilitate royalties collection and distribution once the licensed composition is monetized online and or mechanically. Royalties are important and we all should get paid for our hard work!
OWNERSHIP
You are purchasing an Exclusive or Non-Exclusive Song license or a Masters Use license, not the master or sound recording itself. We do not sell our masters or sound recording rights. We do not sell ownership of our compositions or sound recordings. In order to have ownership, you must have a transference letter signed by FrequencyAudio that appoints the copyright to you.
